Wine Tasting and Membership Event

Join the members of the Columbia University Club of Chicago for an evening of wine tasting and education at our semi-annual membership drive.  Our backdrop for the evening will be views of Buckingham Memorial Fountain and Grant Park. The tasting will take place in Curtiss Hall located on the 10th floor of the Fine Arts Building, which has its own deep roots within Chicago history.

Our evening will be conducted by Zachary Greatting, Sommelier for BRIX, a boutique catering company located in Ravenswood. The tasting event will consist of an overview of the world of wine focusing on the five varietals. We will explore Cava, Sauvignon Blanc, Albarino, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon in relation to regionality and learn about the dramatic impact terroir has on the flavor and character of wine.  To enhance the evening we will be providing cheese and crackers that can be nibbled on throughout the event.

We will be offering special pricing for this event, in order to encourage members to join, or renew their existing membership. Feel free to bring along a guest, or better yet a fellow Columbia University graduate!

Become a new member at $35.00 and you receive a year of membership and free entry to the event. Renew your membership at $45.00 and you receive a year of membership and entry to the event. We welcome all current members and guests to the wine tasting for a price of $20.00.
