Alexis Clark Reads and Discusses Her Book Enemies in Love: A German POW, a Black Nurse, and an Unlikely Romance

Join author and journalist Alexis Clark for a reading and discussion of her book "Enemies in Love: A German POW, a Black Nurse, and an Unlikely Romance." Alexis is a graduate of Columbia Journalism School and also teaches there. She is a contributing writer for The History Channel with stories on African American culture, the military and milestones in social and racial justice. She also writes historical features for The New York Times and helped launch its digital section, “Past Tense.” Walter Isaacson, historian and New York Times bestselling author, wrote: "Alexis Clark illuminates a whole corner of unknown World War II history in a U.S. prisoner of war camp and the postwar American suburbs, full of expected racism and intolerance—sweetened by unexpected love, unusual pockets of racial harmony, and genuine romance." Join fellow alumni for one of our club's Signature Presentations.
