“Monty & Rose 2”: Meet the Filmmaker

Meet filmmaker Bob Dolgan who documented the lives of Monty and Rose, two nesting Piping Plovers at Chicago’s Montrose Beach, and the battle over the "Mamby on the Beach" music festival in 2019. "Monty and Rose 2" was selected for the One Earth Film Festival, the Thunder Bay (Mich.) International Film Festival and has aired on WTTW Channel 11. Join us for a question-and-answer discussion with Bob Dolgan moderated by Chris Stacey about the “Plovermania” that captured Chicagoans hearts and led to the creation of The Monty and Rose Wildlife Habitat.

Registrants are given a link to watch the documentary in advance of the event. The event cost is an honorarium for Bob so he can continue to make documentaries about the importance of protecting wildlife.

Rachel Berardinelli writes: “In the fight to protect wildlife, a lot of the battle is simply getting people to care. Monty and Rose 2 shows us how, and makes clear that when people do, it is life changing." Read the full review.
