Please join us on Saturday, October 26th at 12:30pm (time subject to change) to watch our Columbia Lions Homecoming game against the Dartmouth College football team, together with any willing fans from Dartmouth’s Chicago Alumni Club.  Even if we can’t be at the Homecoming game in person, we can be there in spirit. Have fun cheering on our Columbia Lions Football team and meet new people! Go Lions!

Columbia is coming off a 3-7 season under interim coach Mark Fabish after Al Bagnoli retired just prior to the 2023 campaign.  The Lions had enjoyed winning seasons under Bagnoli in four of the prior 5 years.  The team now has a new head coach, Jon Poppe who served under Bagnoli from 2015-17 and spent the 2023 season as head coach at Union College.  In his first year at Union, Poppe guided the Garnet Chargers to a 10-2 mark and the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.  Poppe was also an assistant coach at Harvard for 10 seasons (2011-14, 2017-22), a team that is a perennial powerhouse in the Ivy League.  Let’s watch Poppe turn the Columbia Lions into a winning football program once again!
