The Kingsmen were founded in 1948 at the request of then-University President Dwight Eisenhower to sing at Columbia University’s Homecoming Game. The group quickly became a sensation, singing on programs such as Good Morning America and The Ed Sullivan Show, and at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the U.S. Open, and Yankee Stadium. Notable alumni of the group include Art Garfunkel of Simon and Garfunkel, Tony and Pulitzer Award-winning composer Tom Kitt, and the doo-wop revival band Sha Na Na. We perform all over New York City, across the country, and around the world— having recently toured Spain, France, Portugal, Morocco, and Ireland. This summer, we're coming to the American Midwest and bringing our doo-wop, Motown, classic rock, R&B, and contemporary tunes with us.
