___________
Whether you are an entrepreneur, intrapreneur, or just interested in learning more about what influences your choices, this event is sure to be beneficial as Michele brings insight into assessing our individual risk personalities and our relationship with risk as it impacts decision-making.
___________
Michele Wucker, a graduate of Columbia University's School of International and Public affairs, is a speaker, consultant, and author of three books including the international bestseller, THE GRAY RHINO: How to Recognize and Act on the Obvious Dangers We Ignore. She coined the term "gray rhino" to draw attention to the obvious risks that are neglected despite – in fact, often because of- their size and likelihood. The metaphor has moved markets and shaped financial policies around the world, particularly in China whose leader Xi Jinping has used the term and displays the book. Her recent TED Talk about gray rhinos attracted 1.5 million views in its first two months online. She has three decades of experience in media, policy analysis, and think tank management, informed by a broad background in finance, policy, behavioral economics, and strategy.
Michele is happy to sign copies of THE GRAY RHINO at the event, but you must order ahead of time.

About Michele's Research
Did you know that you can change your risk tolerance by eating spicy food or changing the music you listen to? Or that unconscious assumptions about who thinks what about risk may be hurting your business? As an entrepreneur, you have to think seriously about risk. But it's likely that you spend more time considering the nature of specific risks than you do seeking to understand why you make the choices you do about how to handle those risks and how well you have prepared your team to deal with bumpy roads. Best-selling author and consultant Michele Wucker will give fellow Columbia alumni a sneak preview of the research behind her latest book in progress and lead the group in an interactive conversation about the surprising influences on your relationship with risk. You'll take away new insights and strategies to help you make better decisions and shape a healthy risk culture at your company.
